No one expected that starting the construction work of the "Arxaio Teixos" guesthouse, they would have the opportunity to see the long history of Distomos every day. In the foundations of the building was hidden a real archaeological treasure, which gave the building its name.

During the excavations for the foundation of our complex, part of the Hellenistic walls of the 4th century, of the ancient Ambrossou, as well as a man's tomb with offerings were uncovered. Immediately the works were frozen in order to enrich the history of our place and the remarkable burial finds, with an age of 2500 years, were transferred to the Archaeological Museum of Distomo.

Faithfully following the archaeologists' instructions, the excavation site that testifies to the inextricable historical development of Distomos as an ancient Phocian city, has been appropriately highlighted and visitors can and do admire it intact by walking in our central courtyard. We are especially proud of our treasure, which makes our guesthouse unique in the whole region!
